MINIRAIL is a windows program used to generate switchlists for your model railroad. Use it as a tool to give purpose to your operations in a logical and meaningful way.

MINIRAIL's approach is that all you need to do is enter your towns, cars, industries and trains which reflects your layout, or perhaps a 'what if' situation, and then truly "generated" switchlists will be produced.

Switchlist programs perhaps new or unfamiliar to you?
Or having difficulties, maybe discouraged by spending a lot of time on data input and debugging, to even get started?

They just do NOT have to be that complicated!

Input dialogs with easy to understand labels have been designed so you can enter the data conveniently and in a minimal amount of time.
Generous hint texts are also provided to familiarize you quickly with the program.

Specific on screen suggestions to quickly find entry errors and help fine tune your data.

IF you need them, complete instructions for using the various dialogs or suggestions on getting started and organizing your data, is available in a very detailed topic organized helpfile.
Or perhaps you may wish to make a printout of the manual.

You are invited to download the demo and examine the program.  This download is a zipped file which includes a readme file, five sets of examples, the complete helpfile, as well as the complete program.  This demo will use the first dozen entries of each file needed to produce switchlists, easily permitting you to test the program and run the examples.

The last upload was completed October 8, 2007.

Play with it and see what it can do.

Please feel free to copy and pass the demo package on to your friends and fellow hobbyists.
